a nature immersion campus designed to reconnect communities to the living landscape through direct, embodied experience
The elevated structure, raised on stilts to protect the marsh ground conditions and honor the uneven topography, acts as both infrastructure and threshold — a spine that shifts in height and character as it moves from the communal to the wild. The building is designed to be seasonally adaptive, allowing the program to breathe with the land across all four seasons.
Organized around a central elevated deck and path system that threads through the site’s varied terrain, the proposal knits together a series of distinct program zones: a nature education building, pool house, wilderness camp huts, garden and compost area, aqua-lab and fishing dock, and firepit gathering space.
Rooted in the ethos of stewardship, the project teaches active care for the environment through living it — foraging, identifying plants, managing fire, growing food, and dwelling in nature — making camp not just a place to visit, but a place to learn how to belong to the land.
